BEER PINSEL
TOWER ART
Berlin, Steglitz. The Bierpinsel ("the beer brush"), as Berliners affectionately call the Turmrestaurant Steglitz, is a 47-meter-high concrete structure that has become a true symbol of the city. This fine art photographic collection documents the transformation of a Brutalist icon into an urban street art masterpiece.
Built between 1972 and 1976 in the Brutalist style, the tower was declared a protected monument in 2017. Over the years, several prominent graffiti artists have painted the exterior of the building as part of the Turmkunst ("tower art") project, transforming it into a vibrant example of urban pop art that blends architecture and street culture.
Key elements of the collection:
- 1970s Brutalist architecture and iconic Berlin design
- Street art and Turmkunst project on the facade
- Contrast between raw concrete and vibrant colors
- Protected monument and urban landmark of Steglitz
